# Kipt > Kipt is a keyboard-first web app that saves your AI prompts and agent skills in a private GitHub repo you own. Kipt is for people who reuse AI prompts every day: developers working in Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT or Claude, and anyone whose best prompts are scattered across notes and old chats. If you only keep a handful of prompts, you probably don't need it. ## Key facts - Storage: a private GitHub repo in your own account, as plain Markdown files. No Kipt database; your repo is the only lasting copy. - Access: a GitHub App with read and write access to the files of the one repo you pick, nothing else. Each request uses a short-lived token GitHub issues for that repo. No GitHub password or long-lived token is stored. - Speed: paste anywhere to save a prompt, ⌘K to search everything, Enter to copy. Prompts with blanks ({{name}}) open a small form first. - Agents: skills are SKILL.md folders in the Agent Skills format that Claude Code and Codex read. Install them with `npx skills add` straight from your repo, with or without Kipt. - No lock-in: if you stop using Kipt, your files keep working in GitHub. ## Status - Kipt is in early access with a waitlist: https://kipt.me/#waitlist - Pricing has not been announced. - Sign in with Google, email or GitHub. ## Docs - [Full details](https://kipt.me/llms-full.txt): features, file formats, keyboard shortcuts, privacy and FAQ in one file - [Home page](https://kipt.me/): what it is, how it works, FAQ and waitlist ## Optional - [Agent Skills format](https://agentskills.io): the open SKILL.md standard Kipt uses for skills - [skills CLI](https://github.com/vercel-labs/skills): `npx skills add`, which installs skills from a GitHub repo
