Kipt is a web app that saves your AI prompts and agent skills in a GitHub repo you own. This page explains what Kipt handles, where it lives, and how to remove it. In short: your library stays in your GitHub, and Kipt has no database of your prompts.
Your account
Sign-in is handled by Clerk. When you sign in with Google, GitHub or email, Clerk keeps your email address and, for Google or GitHub, the name and profile picture those services share. Kipt also stores two things on your Clerk account: which GitHub repo you connected and the ID of your Kipt Library GitHub App installation. It never stores a GitHub password or a long-lived GitHub token.
Your library
- Your prompts, skills and images live only in the GitHub repo you connect. Every save is a commit to that repo.
- Kipt reaches the repo through the Kipt Library GitHub App, with read and write access to the files of that one repo and nothing else in your account. Each request uses a short-lived token GitHub issues for that repo.
- To load pages quickly, Kipt may keep a short-lived copy of your library for the length of a request and in your browser for up to a minute. It is never shared with other people.
- Images in your private repo are shown to you through Kipt and are never made public.
In your browser
How often and how recently you used each prompt, and your Light, Dark or System choice, are saved in your browser's local storage only. They never leave your device.
Services we use
- Clerk, for sign-in and accounts.
- GitHub, where your library lives.
- Vercel, which hosts Kipt and keeps standard request logs.
- Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies. It sees the page address, referrer, country, browser and device type, not who you are. Pages inside the app are counted by their type, never by your prompt or skill names.
- Upstash, for short-lived counters that limit how often a repo can be connected, to stop abuse.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Kipt does not sell your data, show ads, or use ad trackers.
Removing your data
- To cut off Kipt's access to your repo, uninstall Kipt Library in GitHub under Settings, Applications, Installed GitHub Apps. Your repo and everything in it stays yours.
- To delete your Kipt account, email hello@kipt.me and we will remove it from Clerk.
